At 2870 Washington Street, the Boston Islamic Center or Masjid Al-Taqwa is located in the heart of the city of Boston. Serving the larger Muslim community in Roxbury, Masjid Al-Taqwa is an important center for learning, gatherings and resources for anyone stepping through its doors. At the core of Masjid Al-Taqwa’s existence is the commitment to embody Taqwa. It is the consciousness of Allah that guides our every action, programming and vision for our community.
Our annual Mutamar (conference) is the culmination of this year-long mission. It is a celebration of the spiritual and educational growth that happens here at Masjid Al-Taqwa.
While our annual conference is a highlight, the BIC’s impact is year-round. Our strength comes from our diverse and active programming that serves every segment of our community:
For Youth: We offer monthly retreats, basketball leagues, and specialized programs that guide young Muslims through the challenges of modern life, building confidence and character.
For Brothers and Sisters of All Ages: A thriving network of weekly halaqas, youth groups, and educational classes creates a powerful space for learning, support, and leadership.
For Lifelong Learning: Foundational courses in Islamic studies and Quranic circles provide spiritual and intellectual nourishment for all adults.
